Pain going up or down stairs
KNEE PAIN CARE • ATLANTA
Build a stronger, more confident knee.
One-on-one rehabilitation for knee pain with stairs, squatting, running, jumping, daily activity, and return to sport after injury or surgery.
UNDERSTANDING YOUR SYMPTOMS
Knee pain is influenced by the knee—and how the whole leg works.
A knee evaluation considers the joint and surrounding tissues as well as hip strength, ankle mobility, balance, walking or running mechanics, recent changes in activity, and the exact tasks that bring on your symptoms.
COMMON SIGNS
Symptoms can show up in more than one way.
Discomfort with squatting, lunging, kneeling, or standing from a chair
Swelling, stiffness, catching, or a sense of instability
Pain with running, jumping, cutting, or returning to sport
WHAT MAY CONTRIBUTE
The painful area is only part of the picture.
A thorough examination looks at how your symptoms behave, how you move, and what your daily life or sport requires. Common contributors may include:
- Patellofemoral or kneecap-related irritation
- Tendon or muscle overload
- Meniscus or ligament injury
- Hip or ankle strength and mobility changes
- Sudden increases in running or training load
- Recovery after arthroscopy, reconstruction, or replacement

Clear answers before your first visit.
Can I exercise with knee pain?+
Often yes, with the right modifications. Your evaluation helps determine which movements and loads are useful, which should be temporarily adjusted, and how to progress safely.
Do clicking or popping sounds mean something is torn?+
Not always. Joint sounds can occur without injury, but sounds accompanied by pain, swelling, locking, or instability deserve evaluation.
Do you treat meniscus and ACL injuries?+
Yes, including nonoperative rehabilitation and post-surgical care when appropriate. Treatment is coordinated with surgical precautions when applicable.
Will treatment strengthen more than just my knee?+
Usually. Hip, ankle, trunk, balance, and movement mechanics may all be relevant depending on what your examination shows.
