Groin pain with bending, squatting, sitting, or pivoting
HIP PAIN CARE • ATLANTA
Hip pain care for the way you walk, train, and live.
Personalized evaluation and rehabilitation for groin pain, lateral-hip pain, gluteal symptoms, mobility restrictions, and post-surgical recovery.
UNDERSTANDING YOUR SYMPTOMS
Hip pain may be felt in the groin, side of the hip, or buttock.
The location of pain provides clues, but it does not tell the whole story. Your evaluation considers hip motion and strength, the low back, the way you walk or run, training volume, and the specific positions that reproduce your symptoms.
COMMON SIGNS
Symptoms can show up in more than one way.
Pain on the side of the hip when walking or lying on that side
Gluteal pain with stairs, running, or prolonged positions
Stiffness, weakness, or reduced confidence after hip surgery
WHAT MAY CONTRIBUTE
The painful area is only part of the picture.
A thorough examination looks at how your symptoms behave, how you move, and what your daily life or sport requires. Common contributors may include:
- Hip-joint or labral irritation
- Tendon or muscle overload
- Reduced hip mobility or strength
- Low-back or pelvic contribution
- Training-volume or activity changes
- Recovery after arthroscopy or other surgery

Clear answers before your first visit.
Can hip pain come from my back?+
Yes. Low-back and nerve-related problems can sometimes be felt near the hip or buttock. Your evaluation includes screening nearby regions when appropriate.
Do you treat hip impingement or labral-related pain?+
Dr. Karpus evaluates and treats many movement-related hip presentations, including nonoperative and post-surgical cases. Treatment depends on your symptoms, examination, and medical history.
Can I strengthen a painful hip?+
Often yes, but exercise selection, range, and loading need to match the irritability of the problem. Progression is based on your response rather than a generic protocol.
Do you provide post-surgical hip rehabilitation?+
Yes. Rehabilitation can be coordinated around your surgeon’s precautions and your goals for walking, work, exercise, and sport.
